In 1992, April, Australian Federal
and State government granted both finance and technical
support to the ethnic communities to run a radio station
for communities.
In 1992 May, a Broadcasting Group
was established under the management of All Young
Burmese League's media and information branch. Later in
1994, The Burmese Community Broadcasting Group was
established as independent group supported by the whole
Burmese community. Burma Medical Association, Committee
for Restoration of Democracy in Burma, Australian Karen
Organization, Karen Youth Organization, Burmese Family
Sydney Association, All Burma Students' Democratic
Front, All Burma Students' Democratic Organization,
NLD(Liberated Area)-Australia Branch have been members
of the B.C.B.G. At the beginning, there were 20-founding
members and now increased to 38. The membership of
B.C.B.G is A$ 40 for a year. In 2002 December,Everybody can join the group at anytime by the following

The Burmese radio program has been
broadcast since 19th September 1992 until present day,
on 98.5 MHz, FM 2000 Radio, Sydney, Australia. The
Burmese Program goes on air every Sunday from 11:00 am
to 12:00(F.M 2000 Radio).
